Mobile Off-Grid Communication
Mi-OGC is an off-grid communication device. It allows users to communicate wirelessly without cellular network service, using unmodified existing smartphone. A minimum of two Mi-OGC devices are needed to create a communication link.Mi-OGC is connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth technology, and communication between Mi-OGC devices ise in the sub-GHz band (919 to 923 MHz).Each Mi-OGC device can relay data packets to and from other Mi-OGC devices, forming an ad-hoc mesh network that can effectively extend the network’s radio coverage.
Within the Mi-OGC system, users can send and receive text and voice messages, share their location and contacts, as well as broadcast emergency beacons should users find themselves in emergency situations.Users can also monitor their whereabouts via an offline map feature when exploring unfamiliar territories.A mobile app, installed on the smartphone, will be the primary user-interface to facilitate data communication and utilization of features.
